The Forum For Good Governance has declared that it will not allow any individual or group to undermine Nigeria’s peace and democratic stability, expressing confidence in the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation’s security agencies to safeguard the country.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its chairman, Comrade Igwe Udemadu, said Nigerians should remain law-abiding and support constitutional means of expressing grievances rather than actions capable of threatening national peace and security.
Udemadu stated that President Tinubu’s administration, working closely with the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies, remains committed to protecting lives, maintaining law and order, and preserving Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
He warned that the Forum For Good Governance would not fold its arms and watch anyone, including Omoyele Sowore, engage in activities the group believes could destabilise the country.
According to him, while every Nigerian has the constitutional right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, such rights must be be exercised responsibly and within the ambit of the law.
He urged citizens to support government efforts aimed at strengthening national unity, security, and development, stressing that peace and stability remain essential for Nigeria’s continued progress.
The group also called on political actors, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders to pursue dialogue and lawful engagement in addressing national issues, maintaining that democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect, and adherence to the rule of law.
