The Senator Steve Sunday Karimi Education Foundation has announced the commencement of its 2026 bursary programme, with 3,000 students from public higher institutions across Kogi State set to benefit from the educational support initiative.
According to the foundation, the application exercise will commence on August 20 and end on September 20, 2026, while each successful applicant will receive a bursary award of ₦100,000.
The foundation disclosed that the beneficiaries will be selected from the three senatorial districts of the state, with 1,390 students from Kogi West, 1,000 from Kogi East, and 610 from Kogi Central, ensuring fair representation across Kogi State.
The bursary programme, funded by the Senator Steve Sunday Karimi Education Foundation, is aimed at reducing the financial burden on students pursuing higher education in public institutions and promoting academic excellence.
The foundation noted that the initiative underscores Senator Sunday Steve Karimi’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young people through sustained investment in human capital development.
Eligible students have been encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by applying within the stipulated application period, while the foundation assured that the selection process would be transparent and merit-based.
The 2026 bursary award is expected to provide significant financial relief to beneficiaries and further reinforce the foundation’s commitment to improving access to quality education across Kogi State.
