There was jubilation and a large turnout of party supporters on Friday as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) formally presented nomination forms to its Lokoja 1 and Lokoja 2 House of Assembly candidates at the party’s Local Government Secretariat.
The candidates, Alhaji Bambu Ali Tanko for Lokoja 1 Constituency and Hon. Olowo Emmanuel Taiwo for Lokoja 2 Constituency, received their nomination forms amid cheers and solidarity chants from supporters and party faithful who thronged the venue.
The forms were officially handed over by the Lokoja Local Government ADC Chairman, Alhaji Hadi Lawal, who described the two aspirants as credible and capable individuals committed to the development of their constituencies.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Alhaji Lawal expressed confidence in the ability of the candidates to provide purposeful representation if elected.
He urged party members to remain united and committed toward ensuring victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
Supporters at the event praised the peaceful and transparent process adopted by the party leadership, noting that the emergence of the candidates reflects the growing strength of the ADC in Lokoja Local Government Area.
In his remarks, one of the supporters of Alhaji Bambu Ali Tanko, Hon. Mamud Abubakar, assured that the candidates will perform effectively when elected.
He expressed confidence in their capacity to deliver quality representation and bring meaningful development to their constituencies.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after receiving the nomination form, Alhaji Bambu Ali Tanko thanked his supporters and party faithful for the solidarity and encouragement shown to him.
He assured them that he would not disappoint the confidence reposed in him, promising to provide quality and people-oriented representation if elected into the Kogi State House of Assembly.
According to him, his aspiration is driven by the desire to bring development closer to the people, empower youths and women, and ensure that the voices of constituents are adequately represented at the state legislature.
Hon. Olowo Emmanuel Taiwo also appreciated party leaders and supporters for their confidence in his candidature, pledging to work tirelessly for the progress and development of Lokoja 2 Constituency if elected.
The event marked another significant step in the build-up to the forthcoming elections as political activities continue to gather momentum across Kogi State.
