The Yagba Federal Constituency came alive on Sunday as political leaders, stakeholders, youth groups, women associations and residents gathered at GYB Hall, Isanlu, Kogi State, for the Yagba Federal Constituency Town Hall Meeting, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to the continued development of Kogi West Senatorial District and declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.
The town hall meeting, held under the theme, “Continuity for Sustainable Development in Kogi West Senatorial District,” attracted community leaders, party faithful, professionals, traditional stakeholders and residents from across the constituency to review developmental achievements and chart a course for greater progress.
Participants commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that several federal policies and infrastructure initiatives were already making positive impacts across the country.
They also expressed appreciation for the projects and empowerment programmes facilitated by Senator Karimi across Kogi West.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Karimi thanked party members and supporters for their overwhelming support during the APC primary election, describing their loyalty and commitment as instrumental to his emergence as the party’s candidate.
He assured them that he would not let them down and pledged to continue providing quality representation and delivering more democratic dividends to the people of Kogi West.
The lawmaker also announced that another batch of 3,000 students across the 21 local government areas of Kogi state would soon benefit from his bursary programme, with each student receiving ₦100,000 to support their education.
According to him, the initiative is intended to complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Kogi State by investing in education and empowering young people.
He further highlighted his ongoing interventions in infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and community development, stressing that sustained collaboration between the people and their elected representatives remained essential for accelerated growth.
The senator urged constituents to remain united and continue supporting the administration of President Tinubu, saying continuity in leadership would guarantee the completion of ongoing projects and attract more federal presence to Kogi West.
Several speakers at the event praised Senator Karimi’s performance in office, describing him as a responsive representative whose constituency projects and empowerment programmes had positively impacted many communities.
The stakeholders also used the occasion to call for greater unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing that collective efforts would strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the meeting, Senator Karimi expressed delight over the impressive turnout, describing it as a clear demonstration of the confidence the people have in the APC and its leadership.
He said the enthusiasm displayed by party members and supporters had further strengthened his conviction that the APC would record overwhelming victories in the forthcoming elections.
He urged party faithful to remain united, continue mobilising at the grassroots and work together to ensure the party’s success at all levels.
The meeting ended with a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, as participants unanimously pledged their continued support for both leaders in their quest to sustain development and good governance in Kogi West and Nigeria at large.
