A Qur’anic school, Markazi Nurul Huda, Karaworo Branch One, Lokoja, has graduated 14 students who successfully completed the memorisation and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
The National Watch TV reports that the Qur’anic graduation ceremony was the 10th edition organised by the school, with the 14 graduands completing their Qur’anic studies and basic Islamic education.
The graduands had successfully memorised the Holy Qur’an and demonstrated their knowledge of its proper recitation as part of the requirements for the graduation.
The Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, performed the opening remarks at the ceremony, where he commended the students, teachers and parents for their commitment to Qur’anic education.
Sheikh Shaban encouraged the graduands to remain committed to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and ensure that the knowledge they acquired reflects in their character and dealings with other members of society.
The school was founded and established under the leadership of late Malam Abdulsalam Salihu, who was the proprietor of Markazi Nurul Huda.
Late Malam Abdulsalam Salihu passed away a few months ago after a brief illness.
His contributions to the establishment and development of the Qur’anic school were remembered by members of the school community during the graduation ceremony.
Speaking at the occasion, the Head of the School Teachers, Ustaz Maiyaki Ismaila Idris, congratulated the graduands on their achievement and urged them to remain committed to the teachings of Islam.
He advised the graduates to be good ambassadors of Islam wherever they find themselves and to always abide by the truth.
Ustaz Idris also encouraged the graduands to continue learning and applying the teachings of the Holy Qur’an in their daily lives.
In their separate remarks, parents of the graduating students expressed appreciation to the management and teachers of Markazi Nurul Huda for their efforts in nurturing and educating their children.
The parents also thanked relatives, friends, Islamic scholars and other well-wishers who attended the ceremony to celebrate with their children, describing their presence and support as a source of encouragement to the graduating students.
Also speaking, the graduating students expressed appreciation to their teachers and parents for their guidance, sacrifices and support throughout their Qur’anic education.
The students also thanked all those who attended the ceremony to celebrate the milestone with them, saying their presence made the occasion memorable and meaningful.
They pledged to uphold the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, continue their Islamic education and strive to be good ambassadors of Islam wherever they find themselves.
The graduation ceremony was well attended by parents, relatives, Islamic scholars, teachers, friends and other members of the community, who gathered to celebrate the achievement of the 14 graduands and offer prayers for their continued success in their Islamic education.
