VIDEO: Gov Makinde Visits Freed Oriire Kidnap Victims in Hospital, Assures Support for Recovery

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has visited the teachers and pupils recently rescued from captivity in Oriire Local Government Area, who are currently receiving treatment at a military hospital in Ibadan.

During the visit, the governor assured the victims and their families of the state government’s unwavering support, pledging comprehensive medical and psychosocial care to aid their recovery and reintegration into society.

He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for the successful rescue operation and expressed gratitude for the safe return of the victims.

Makinde noted that the survivors would remain under medical observation until healthcare professionals certify them fit to reunite with their families.

He added that the state government would work closely with relevant agencies to ensure the victims receive continued counselling and educational support where necessary.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Oyo State through enhanced collaboration with security agencies, intelligence gathering, and community engagement.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

Family members and hospital officials expressed appreciation for the governor’s visit, describing it as a morale booster for the recovering victims.

The visit underscored the state government’s resolve to stand by citizens affected by insecurity and to promote their full rehabilitation and return to normal life.
