The Kogi West Progressive Vanguard (KWPV) has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the general public to disregard what it described as government-sponsored social media reports targeting Senator Sunday Karimi, insisting that he remains the party’s candidate.

In a statement made available to journalists on Friday, the President of the group, Mose Emmanuel, alleged that the reports were orchestrated to create confusion and undermine Senator Karimi’s political standing.

Emmanuel maintained that the alleged campaign had failed, just as the reported attempt to secure a royal endorsement for another aspirant did not succeed.

According to him, Senator Karimi remains the APC candidate, adding that no amount of propaganda or sponsored media reports would change the political reality in Kogi West.

He urged party members and supporters to remain calm, united and focused, stressing that only official communications from the APC and relevant authorities should be relied upon.

The group further called on political actors to desist from spreading misinformation capable of causing unnecessary tension, while expressing confidence that Senator Karimi would continue to enjoy the support of APC members and constituents across Kogi West Senatorial District.
