The Audu/Faleke Political Family has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by what it described as “paid agents and unstable elements” to convene an unlawful meeting aimed at issuing a statement against the political family.
In a press release signed by its Head of Media, Umar Isah, the group said credible intelligence available to its established leadership had uncovered what it described as “dubious plans” by certain individuals to organise the meeting for what it termed mischievous and selfish reasons.
The group urged its members across Kogi State, those in the diaspora, stakeholders and the general public to be cautious of information allegedly emanating from the planned gathering.
According to the statement, the Audu/Faleke Political Family has existed for over a decade, having emerged from a convergence of individuals who shared the political ideals and leadership of the late Prince Abubakar Audu and Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, particularly during the 2015 Kogi State governorship election.
The group said its primary objective was to promote the political ideology and legacy of its late principal, stressing that it had developed a recognised structure, leadership and hierarchy over the years.
It maintained that, based on the established structure, any meeting not convened by the leadership of the Audu/Faleke Political Family should not be regarded as an official gathering of the group.
“Any statement, communique, or resolution emanating from such an illegal gathering is null, void, and of no effect whatsoever,” the statement declared.
The political family therefore advised its members, stakeholders and the media to disregard any statement or information that may emerge from what it described as unauthorised quarters.
It reaffirmed that its position and leadership structure remained unchanged, urging members to remain united and focused.
