The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has commenced the enforcement of vehicle tint regulations across Abuja, warning motorists using unauthorized tinted vehicles that they risk arrest and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, issued the warning as the Command intensified efforts to strengthen security and curb criminal activities often linked to the misuse of tinted vehicles.
According to the police, drivers found operating vehicles with illegally tinted windows will be subjected to necessary checks and may face legal consequences in line with existing laws and regulations.
CP Sanusi urged all vehicle owners and motorists in the FCT to comply with the law by obtaining the required permits where applicable and ensuring their vehicles meet approved standards.
The Command emphasized that the enforcement exercise is aimed at enhancing public safety, improving visibility for security operatives, and supporting ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity within the nation’s capital.
Residents and motorists were advised to cooperate with security personnel and adhere strictly to vehicle tint regulations to avoid sanctions.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of all residents of Abuja.
