The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a ‘One Chance’ robbery syndicate operating in Abuja.
The suspects, identified as Okwudili Benjamin, 41, and Chinedu Mbaka, 37, were arrested on Sunday, September 20, 2026, around the Court of Appeal Junction in Abuja.
The suspects were intercepted while travelling in a Toyota Camry, with police operatives recovering nine Android mobile phones, pliers, a wheel lock and other exhibits from them.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammad Sanusi, disclosed this while parading the suspects before newsmen in Abuja.
Sanusi said further investigation by police operatives led to the arrest of an alleged receiver, identified as Osondu Benard, at NPC Junction, Nyanya.
According to him, the arrests were part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal syndicates and improve security across the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to determine their level of involvement and identify other persons allegedly connected to the syndicate.
The Commissioner urged residents to remain vigilant, exercise caution when boarding vehicles and promptly report suspicious movements or activities to the police.
The Command said investigations were ongoing, adding that further developments would be communicated as the case progresses.
