Family Holds 8-Day Fidau Prayer for Zainab Sulaiman in Lokoja

Family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered in Lokoja to observe the 8-day Fidau prayer for the late Zainab Sulaiman, who passed away at the age of 93.

The solemn prayer session took place at the residence of her son, Umar Sulaiman Isah Kinemi, located in the Gadumo area of Lokoja.

The Fidau prayer featured the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere as prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased.

The prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Gadumo Central Mosque, Sheikh Ibrahim Sulaiman, who urged the family to remain steadfast in faith during this period of mourning.

He also prayed for peace, unity, and progress in Lokoja, Kogi State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Dignitaries from various walks of life attended the event, including the Lokoja Local Government Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, the Kogi State Commissioner for Justice, members of the Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LFP), top government officials, politicians, and Islamic clerics.

Speaking on behalf of the Lokoja Forum of Patriots, its Chairman, Alhaji Idris Baba’Ango, prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and asked Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.

In his remarks, the deceased’s son, Alhaji Umar Sulaiman Kinemi, who is Commissioner I at the Kogi State Pension Commission, expressed deep appreciation to all those who attended the prayer session and supported the family during their time of grief.

He thanked dignitaries, friends, and associates for their prayers and show of solidarity, noting that their presence brought comfort to the family.

The Fidau prayer ended with special supplications for the deceased and prayers for continued peace, unity, and development in the society.
