The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulkadir Ibrahim, has felicitated with Muslims across the constituency, Kogi State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid Maulud celebration.
Ibrahim made the statement in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday.
He described Eid Maulud as an important occasion for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and virtues of Prophet Muhammad and their relevance to contemporary society.
The PDP candidate urged Muslims to use the celebration to renew their commitment to the values of peace, love, tolerance, honesty, justice and compassion.
He stressed that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad provide a strong foundation for peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and understanding among people of different backgrounds and faiths.
Ibrahim called on Muslims to demonstrate the spirit of sacrifice and generosity by reaching out to the less privileged, particularly families facing economic difficulties.
He also urged political leaders and citizens to put the interests of the people above personal considerations, saying collective responsibility and unity were essential for the progress of the country.
The PDP candidate appealed to residents of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency to continue to maintain peace and cordial relationships with one another, regardless of political, religious or ethnic differences.
He said peaceful coexistence remained crucial to the development of the constituency, stressing that development could only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and stability.
Ibrahim further called on Nigerians to continue praying for the country and its leaders, expressing hope that Nigeria would overcome its challenges and emerge stronger and more prosperous.
He assured the people of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency of his continued commitment to their welfare and aspirations, saying their interests remained central to his political vision.
He wished Muslims a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid Maulud celebration, praying that the occasion would bring blessings, unity and renewed hope to families and communities across the country.
