The Maigari of Lokoja, Dr. Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi, on Saturday led an array of traditional rulers, government officials, politicians, and other dignitaries to the wedding Fatiha of Miss Zainab Lilichi Abu and Dr. Nda Tim Diche in Lokoja.
The wedding ceremony, which took place at Adankolo New Layout, Lokoja, attracted family members, friends, well-wishers, and prominent personalities from across Kogi State and beyond.
The solemnization of the marriage was officiated by the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, who conducted the Islamic rites and offered prayers for the successful union of the couple.
During the ceremony, a dowry of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (âĤ500,000) was paid in accordance with Islamic and family traditions.
Speaking at the event, the Maigari of Lokoja congratulated the newly married couple and prayed for Allah’s guidance, protection, and abundant blessings upon their home. He also advised them to build their marriage on the principles of love, patience, mutual respect, and understanding.
Other dignitaries in attendance also offered prayers and words of encouragement to the couple, wishing them a peaceful and prosperous married life.
Among the traditional rulers present were the Ohegba of Mozum and the Adoja of Adum-Woiwo, alongside top government officials, politicians, and traditional title holders.
In his vote of thanks, Dr. Nda Tim Diche expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful ceremony and appreciated all guests who took time to attend and celebrate with the families.
Dr. Diche, who holds the traditional title of Maji of Bassa-Nge Kingdom, described the turnout of guests and goodwill messages as a demonstration of love and support, and prayed for safe journeys for all attendees.
The colourful ceremony ended with special prayers for the couple, their families, and the continued peace and unity of the community.
