CP Sanusi Leads Rescue Efforts at Building Collapse Site in Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, on Thursday led a team of security personnel to the scene of a three-storey building collapse in Jikwoyi Phase 1 to oversee ongoing rescue operations.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, caused panic among residents as emergency responders rushed to rescue those trapped beneath the debris.

On arrival at the scene, CP Sanusi coordinated efforts with relevant agencies, including the Federal Fire Service and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to ensure a swift and organized response.

Eyewitnesses said several persons were feared trapped when the structure suddenly caved in, although the exact number of casualties had yet to be officially confirmed as of press time.

The police commissioner assured residents that all necessary resources had been deployed to support the rescue mission and maintain security in the area. He also urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with emergency teams.

CP Sanusi further emphasized the need for strict compliance with building regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
