A Frontline aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly representing Lokoja I Constituency, Muhammad Mikail (Ya’aba), officially submitted his letter of intent to contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Lokoja Local Government Secretariat on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Accompanied by a large delegation of supporters and well-wishers, Mikail Ya’aba was warmly received by the party executives led by APC Chairman, Hon. Idris Aloma.
The Chairman encouraged him to remain an astute party man, engage stakeholders, and ensure inclusiveness in his political activities.
In his remarks, Mikail Ya’aba thanked the party leadership and assured them that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to serve the people of Lokoja I, strengthen the party’s presence, and improve its electoral fortunes.
He commended the leadership style of Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing the governor as a humble and impact-driven leader whose administration has consistently responded to the needs of Kogites.
The aspirant emphasized that effective representation at the State Assembly must be consultative, accountable, and people-centered. “If given the opportunity, I will be a strong voice for my ward, ensuring that the interests of my constituents are fully represented in legislative debates and development planning,” he said.
Mikail Ya’aba holds a Master’s degree in Communications and Media Studies, a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication (Second Class Upper), and is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). He has also attended professional and leadership trainings within and outside Nigeria.
He concluded by soliciting the support of APC executives and party faithful, promising accessibility, integrity, teamwork, and a steadfast commitment to delivering tangible impact for his constituency and the party.
