The Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF) has inaugurated 10,000 grassroots mobilizers to support the re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sunday Karimi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday at the conference hall of Lisa Palm Hotel, bringing together members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the seven local government areas that make up the Kogi West Senatorial District.
The mobilizers, drawn from across the district, are expected to strengthen grassroots engagement and mobilize voters in support of the APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
According to the KPSF State Coordinator, Sanni Philips, the inauguration exercise will continue across other parts of the state, with Kabba serving as the official flag-off location.
Philips said the initiative was designed to deepen grassroots political participation and ensure that the achievements of the Tinubu administration are effectively communicated to people at the community level.
He called on residents of Kogi West to remain united and committed to sustaining the programmes and policies of President Tinubu, noting that the reforms and projects initiated by the administration are gradually repositioning Nigeria for growth and stability.
The state coordinator highlighted several initiatives of the federal government, including the student loan scheme, infrastructural development projects, and the coastal road project, describing them as policies that would have lasting positive impacts on the country.
He also commended Senator Karimi for what he described as people-oriented representation, citing his empowerment programmes for women and youths as well as educational support initiatives for students within the senatorial district.
Philips further pointed to the establishment of a forward military base in the area and several empowerment programmes, including bursaries and financial assistance for constituents, as evidence of the senator’s commitment to development.
Speakers at the event commended both President Tinubu and Senator Karimi for their leadership and development initiatives, noting that their contributions have positively impacted the lives of many Nigerians.
The state coordinator also charged the 85 ward coordinators inaugurated during the event to take the message of the party’s achievements to every community, urging them to mobilize voters and strengthen the APC’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, the KPSF Zone A Coordinator, Funsho Otu, described the inauguration as a watershed moment for the forum. He added that the initiative complements the leadership efforts of Usman Ahmed Ododo in strengthening the APC across the state.
In separate goodwill messages, stakeholders including Ismaila Isah from Yagba East described Senator Karimi as an epitome of impactful representation, expressing confidence that his return to the Senate in 2027 remains assured.
Also speaking, the zonal women leader, Olamide Adesoro, described the inauguration of the mobilizers as a decisive step toward sustaining development in Kogi West.
She added that women and youths in the district are fully committed to supporting both President Tinubu and Senator Karimi for another term in office.
Adesoro noted that the active involvement of women and young people in the mobilization effort would further strengthen the APC’s support base at the grassroots level.
Highlights of the event included the formal inauguration of ward and zonal coordinators who will lead the mobilization drive across the senatorial district.
The gathering also featured the celebration of the 65th birthday of Senator Karimi, marked by the cutting of a birthday cake in his honour following his endorsement alongside President Tinubu for another term in office.
Participants at the event expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated mobilizers would play a crucial role in strengthening the party’s presence across communities and ensuring strong electoral support in future elections.
