The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, on Sunday convened a strategic meeting with the seven local government chairmen from Kogi West, APC local government chairmen, youth leaders, women leaders, and other key party stakeholders as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The meeting, held at the conference hall of the Reverton Hotel in Lokoja, focused on strategies for ensuring the party’s unity and securing victory in the forthcoming senatorial election.
Addressing the gathering shortly after the closed-door session, Senator Karimi expressed appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders for their continued support and confidence in his leadership.
He assured members that he would not disappoint the people of Kogi West, pledging to sustain quality representation and continue pursuing developmental projects and people-oriented initiatives across the district.
The lawmaker dismissed speculations of division within the APC, insisting that the party remains united despite rumours of internal disagreements.
“There is no quarrel in the APC as some people have continued to claim. We remain one family, and our focus is to work together for the progress of the party and the development of Kogi West,” he said.
Karimi urged party members to close ranks, put aside personal differences, and work collectively toward achieving victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
He emphasized that unity, loyalty, and grassroots mobilization would be critical to the party’s success, calling on stakeholders at all levels to remain committed to the APC’s ideals.
In his remarks, the Kogi State APC Youth Leader, Comrade Buhari Lokoja, reaffirmed the support of the party’s youth wing for Senator Karimi’s senatorial ambition.
He assured the lawmaker that the youth and women across the seven local government areas of Kogi West were fully prepared to mobilize support for his re-election campaign.
According to him, the meeting demonstrated the party’s determination to remain united and well-organized ahead of the polls.
Comrade Buhari also appealed to party members to cooperate with one another and avoid actions capable of creating disunity within the APC, stressing that collective efforts would guarantee victory for the party in the 2027 general election.
The meeting was attended by prominent APC stakeholders from across Kogi West, including the seven local government chairmen, APC local government chairmen, youth and women leaders, and other party executives, all of whom pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization in support of the party and Senator Karimi’s re-election bid.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Senator Karimi called on party members and stakeholders to continue working together in unity and cooperation for the success of the APC, assuring them that he would not disappoint the people of Kogi West if re-elected as their senator in the 2027 general election.
