The Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency Audu/Faleke Political Family has paid a courtesy visit to Hon. James Abiodun Faleke at the Tinubu Support Group Secretariat in Maitama, Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Saturday, was led by Hon. Shaba Ibrahim and brought together members of the political family from Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.
Members of the delegation included Hon. Osune Shaibu, the Sarkin Pawa of Lokoja, Alhaji Idi Ibrahim, Alhaji Attati Bozy, Hon. Abdulrahman Wuya, as well as representatives of women and youth groups.
In his opening remarks, Ibrahim expressed appreciation to Faleke for his efforts in facilitating federal government appointments for people of Kogi State.
He also congratulated Faleke on his appointment as Deputy Campaign Director for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the appointment as a recognition of his political experience, loyalty and contributions to the success of the administration.
Ibrahim appealed to Faleke to continue providing direction and leadership to members of the political family, stressing the need for them to remain united, coordinated and focused.
He said the group was prepared to work closely with Faleke and other stakeholders to strengthen the party’s political structure and mobilise support for President Tinubu across the Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency.
Responding, Faleke thanked the delegation for the visit and commended its members for remaining steadfast with the Audu/Faleke Political Family over the years.
He urged members to remain committed to the collective political project, noting that his immediate priority was to ensure the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming election.
Faleke charged members of the group to take the message of the Tinubu administration’s achievements to the grassroots and mobilise the people to support the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He highlighted some of the achievements of the Tinubu administration, saying the government had embarked on various initiatives aimed at improving the economy, infrastructure and the welfare of Nigerians.
Faleke also spoke on the recent controversy surrounding the suspension of some APC executives in Lokoja over their participation in a town hall meeting organised by Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.
He said he initially found the development difficult to believe when he read about it on social media.
“I read it in the social media but didn’t believe that such can happen. But how can you suspend party members for attending Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Town Hall meeting? Well, let’s see how it will end,” Faleke said.
Other stakeholders who spoke during the meeting commended Faleke for his leadership, guidance and contributions to the political development of the group and Kogi State.
They assured him of their continued support and reaffirmed their commitment to the Audu/Faleke Political Family.
The stakeholders also pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections, promising to work collectively to ensure the success of the party at the polls.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by the Audu/Faleke Political Family to strengthen grassroots coordination, mobilise support for President Tinubu and work towards the success of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
