The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Jibril Kasim Idris Aloma, has appealed to the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, to reinstate Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Bala as Special Adviser on Political and Grassroots Mobilization.
The appeal followed Bala’s acceptance of the decision of APC stakeholders to adopt a consensus candidate for the Lokoja 1 State Constituency House of Assembly seat.
Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Bala, who previously served as Special Adviser on Political and Grassroots Mobilization to the governor, had resigned his appointment to contest for the Lokoja 1 State Constituency seat under the platform of the APC.
However, after consultations among party leaders and stakeholders, Hon. Shehu Tijjani Bin Ebaiya emerged as the consensus candidate for the constituency, a decision Bala accepted in the interest of party unity and cohesion.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Jibril Kasim Idris Aloma described Bala as a loyal and committed party member who had contributed significantly to political coordination and grassroots mobilization in the state.
He noted that Bala’s acceptance of the consensus arrangement demonstrated political maturity, discipline, and loyalty to the party’s collective interest.
According to Aloma, Bala’s experience in grassroots engagement and political mobilization remains valuable to the administration, especially in strengthening party structure and support base across Lokoja Local Government Area.
The APC chairman added that Bala’s earlier contributions in mobilizing youths and party supporters had positively impacted the party’s strength at the grassroots level.
He therefore urged Governor Ododo to consider reinstating Bala or assigning him another strategic role within the government, stressing that his capacity and experience should not be left unused.
Aloma also commended the governor’s leadership style, noting that his administration has continued to promote inclusiveness, party unity, and effective grassroots engagement across Kogi State.
He further called on APC members and supporters to remain united and continue to work together in strengthening the party ahead of future political activities in the state.
