Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has officially announced the receipt of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) acknowledgement letter recognizing him as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
The senator made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, expressing gratitude to God and supporters across the district for their unwavering support throughout the party’s nomination process.
Describing the development as a milestone in the journey towards the 2027 elections, Karimi said the recognition by INEC officially confirms his candidacy under the APC platform.
“To God be the glory! I wish to announce the official receipt of the acknowledgement letter of recognition from INEC, confirming me as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election,” he stated.
The lawmaker reiterated his earlier position that there should be “no victor and no vanquished” following the conclusion of the party’s nomination process, stressing that the victory belongs to everyone, including those outside the APC.
According to him, the focus should now shift to reconciliation, rebuilding relationships and strengthening party unity ahead of the general election.
Karimi called on party leaders, stakeholders, members and supporters across Kogi West to close ranks and work together as one formidable family to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 polls.
“I am for everyone and I am ready to work with everybody,” the senator said, assuring party faithful that he would continue to provide inclusive leadership and carry all interests along.
He also expressed appreciation to the people of Kogi West and lovers of democracy for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to justify the trust placed in his leadership.
Karimi concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the ideals of the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism that unity and collective effort would pave the way for electoral success in 2027.
