A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Hassan Abugi, has expressed deep appreciation to the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, for facilitating the renovation of LGEA Primary School, Abugi Kupa.
Hon. Abugi described the project as a landmark achievement that reflects the Speaker’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people through investments in education and community development.
Speaking shortly after inspecting the renovated school, the APC stalwart noted that the intervention has brought relief to pupils, teachers, and parents who had long endured inadequate learning facilities due to the deteriorating condition of the school buildings.
He said the renovation would create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning, while also encouraging increased enrollment among children in the community.
According to him, education remains one of the most effective tools for societal development, stressing that the renovation of the school demonstrates the Speaker’s understanding of the importance of providing quality educational infrastructure for future generations.
Hon. Abugi commended Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf for what he described as purposeful and responsive leadership, noting that the Speaker has continued to attract meaningful projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary people across Lokoja Local Government Area.
“The people of Abugi Kupa are happy and grateful for this intervention. This renovated school will not only improve the standard of education in our community but will also serve as a lasting legacy for generations to come,” he said.
The APC chieftain further stated that the project has renewed the confidence of residents in the commitment of elected representatives to grassroots development.
He urged community members, school authorities, and pupils to take ownership of the facility by ensuring its proper maintenance and protection against vandalism.
Hon. Abugi also called on government agencies and relevant stakeholders to complement the renovation effort through the provision of classroom furniture, instructional materials, and other educational resources needed to enhance learning outcomes.
He expressed confidence that the Speaker would continue to champion developmental projects in critical sectors, including education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
Residents of Abugi Kupa who spoke on the development described the renovation as a welcome relief and praised the Speaker for responding to the educational needs of the community.
They noted that the upgraded school environment would contribute significantly to academic excellence and the overall development of children in the area.
Hon. Abugi concluded by praying for God’s guidance, wisdom, and strength for Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf as he continues to provide leadership and attract more dividends of democracy to Lokoja Local Government Area and Kogi State at large.
