The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has foiled a planned kidnapping of a medical doctor in the Zuba area of the FCT, arresting three suspects in connection with the alleged plot.

The suspects were arrested by police operatives following intelligence that uncovered plans to abduct the medical practitioner.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who disclosed this, said the timely intervention of the operatives prevented the suspects from carrying out the planned abduction.

According to her, the suspects were arrested during a police operation based on credible intelligence about the kidnapping plan.

SP Adeh said during interrogation, the suspects reportedly told investigators that they were driven into the criminal activity because of financial challenges.

The suspects allegedly confessed that their difficult financial circumstances influenced their decision to venture into kidnapping.

She said investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details of the plot and determine whether other individuals were involved in the suspected kidnapping network.

The three suspects remain in police custody and are assisting investigators with information that could lead to the arrest of other members of the group.

The FCT Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across the Federal Capital Territory through intelligence-led operations.

The Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly provide security agencies with information about suspicious persons and activities within their communities.
