A viral video circulating on social media has captured a tense moment at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention involving former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
The clip, posted by popular content creator Rock Yusuf, showed Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, allegedly snubbing Bello while exchanging pleasantries with other former governors.
The video shows Seyi Tinubu moving from one former governor to another, shaking hands and exchanging cordial greetings.
However, when he approached Bello, he appeared to avoid the former governor, a scene Rock Yusuf described as âawkward and telling,â highlighting the unusual coolness in their interaction.
Sources close to the event revealed that the snub may have been linked to a political disagreement.
Seyi Tinubu reportedly requested that Bello help reinstate the immediate past Kogi APC Youth Leader, Muhammad Muhammad, while he sought to retain him in the position.
Bello, it was learnt, turned down the request, leading to the visible tension between the two.
Political analysts have weighed in on the incident, noting that it could signal underlying frictions within the Kogi APC leadership.
“Such moments, though subtle, often reflect deeper disagreements that could affect party cohesion at the state level,â said one political observer who asked to remain anonymous.
Social media users have quickly picked up on the video, with many debating whether the incident was a deliberate political statement or merely a brief lapse in protocol.
Rock Yusufâs post has since garnered thousands of views, with comments ranging from humorous reactions to serious analyses of intra-party politics.
Despite the viral attention, neither Yahaya Bello nor Seyi Tinubu have publicly commented on the alleged snub.
Observers say the incident highlights the complex dynamics between national political figures and state actors, especially in states like Kogi where youth and party leadership positions are highly contested.
The APC convention continues to be a focal point for political watchers, with moments like this fueling speculation on alliances and rivalries ahead of upcoming elections.
