The Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Youth Empowerment, Hon. Godfrey Adekoye, popularly known as Critical Stakeholder, has again demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development by empowering residents of Lokoja Local Government Area with cash grants, agricultural equipment and a grinding machine.
The empowerment exercise, held on Monday at the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, marked the fourth empowerment programme organised by Adekoye this year as part of his sustained efforts to improve the livelihoods of youths and vulnerable members of society.
At the event, ten youths received ₦200,000 each, amounting to ₦2 million, to establish or expand their businesses. A tiller was also presented with a tilling equipment, while a physically challenged elderly woman received a grinding machine to enhance her means of livelihood and promote economic self-reliance.
Speaking at the programme, Adekoye said the initiative was designed to empower beneficiaries to become self-reliant and productive members of society.
He noted that the intervention aligns with the youth empowerment and economic development agenda of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support provided, stressing that the intervention was aimed at improving their standard of living, creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth at the grassroots.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulrahman Hussaini, fondly called Gentle, who presented the cash and empowerment materials on behalf of Adekoye, commended the Senior Special Assistant for sustaining the empowerment programme, describing the initiative as a practical demonstration of his commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
Hussaini also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and grassroots development, noting that his administration has continued to implement people-oriented programmes that have positively impacted the lives of Kogi residents.
He expressed confidence that the people of Lokoja Local Government Area would overwhelmingly vote for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming local government election, assuring that the party would record a landslide victory.
He, however, advised the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the cash and equipment provided by investing the support wisely to expand their businesses and attain financial independence.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Bawa Alfa thanked Hon. Godfrey Adekoye for the empowerment initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.
He promised that the beneficiaries would make judicious use of the cash and equipment provided to improve their businesses and livelihoods.
He also appreciated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for creating an enabling environment for youth empowerment and prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection and greater success for Adekoye in his service to the people.
