An activist, Hon. Yusuf Yahaya has assured the people of an effective representation if elected as a councilor to represent Lokoja Ward ‘C’ in the forthcoming local government election.
Yahaya, who is aspiring to represent the people of Lokoja Ward ‘C’ on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), on Wednesday gave the promise while presenting the nomination forms he purchased to leaders of the party for blessing.
He said he understood the challenges people in the Ward face and was ready to address the challenges if elected.
“I am here to ask for your support and prayers to represent all of us in Ward ‘C’. I understand the challenges of the Ward as well as the youths who sometimes graduate and wait for over seven years without jobs.
“When you support me and make me get to the Councilorship you will not regret it”, Yahaya said.
On his part, the chairman of the Campaign Council, Yusuf Abdulkareem said Yahaya was the man they want in the council come October 19, 2024.
He added that Yahaya was not just an aspirant but the candidate because no other person matches him in terms of capacity and ability to keep his promises.
Welcoming the team, a chieftain of the SDP in the Ward, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said Yahaya has taken the right step by consulting them. He said the people of the area will give him all the support.
He said before now, other aspirants did not think it was necessary to consult with the people because they felt they will get their tickets up there.
He said grassroots politics was necessary and pledged support for Yahaya’s ambition.
