The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi IV, has commended the Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LFP), for its contributions to the development of numerous communities in Lokoja.
The royal father gave the commendation on Tuesday in his palace in Lokoja when the LFP members paid him traditional Sallah homage.
The mornarch said he is impressed with the reports of the Forum’s activities since it’s formation.
Maigari enumerated some of the projects embarked upon by the LFP to include the annual boat regatta, settling of community and leadership disputes, award of scholarships, printing of souvenirs for the traditional council during festivals among others.
“I must express my delight on this visit to the palace. I would not get tired of receiving you people, because you have done a lot for this Kingdom.
The royal father prayed to God to bless the group with more wisdom for greater impact.
Earlier, leader of the LFP, Alhaji Idris Baba’Ango explained that the visit was a Sallah homage to the monarch.
He stated that they were in the palace to also congratulate the Maigari on the successful traditional Sallah reception (Parade) held at Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, day after Sallah.
He said the reception was well attended, saying that it has brought Lokoja back to what it’s known for.
According to Baba’Ango, the reception was a revival of Lokoja people’s culture.
He said; “that day, our children who didn’t know that Lokoja has a rich culture saw what happened, they were all happy with the organization.
“We urge the traditional council to continue to showcase our culture every Sallah.
The LFP leader prayed God to continue to guide and protect the Maigari as he pilots the affairs of the Kingdom.
