The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi IV, has on Monday, receive the residents of Lokoja Ward ‘D’, on a traditional Sallah homage.
The yearly Sallah homage to the Maigari is an age-old tradition which is led by the Hakimi of Ward D, Alhaji Isah Baba Nasidi, accompanied by the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban and some stakeholders, all adorned in colourful royal garments that bring a touch of splendor, drawing hundreds of spectators from across the community.
Speaking at the event, spokesperson for the delegation, Alhaji Tenimu Nasidi, expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for guiding the Muslim Ummah through the sacred month of Ramadan culminating in the Eid al-Fitr festival.
He thanked the monarch for the recent the letter of confirmation issued to the Ward D Hakimi.
Enumerating the Wards achievements so far, Nasidi explained that the Ward had successfully flushed out criminal elements in the area, saying that it is only the Ward government attached DSS personnels to.
On education, Nasidi explained to the royal father that some prominent indigenes in the area recently awarded scholarships to some indigent students from the community.
In his remarks, the Maigari thanked the group for the visit, assured that his administration will continue to seek the support, cooperation, and wise counsel of opinion leaders in providing the desirable leadership for the Kingdom in order to lead the area in the most effective, efficient, and fair manner.
“I am delighted to host the Hakimi and members of his entourage on this traditional Sallah homage. On behalf of myself and the entire members of Lokoja Kingdom, we welcome you very warmly”, the traditional said.
