The Minister for Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, has hosted a strategic meeting with prominent stakeholders from Kogi East to strengthen unity and mobilize support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Sunday, focused on consolidating political unity, harmonizing interests among Igala leaders and strengthening collaboration towards the effective delivery of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The stakeholders emphasized the importance of unity as a foundation for sustainable development, resolving to take the message of the administration’s programmes to the grassroots and mobilize support for the President’s second-term bid.
They also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for recognizing the contributions of Kogi East to the APC’s success in 2023 through the appointment of several sons and daughters of Igala extraction into his administration.
The stakeholders said they were optimistic that more opportunities and appointments would come to the people of Kogi East, pledging to reciprocate the gesture through renewed commitment and support for the President and the APC.
They consequently resolved to return to their respective communities and work closely with their supporters to deepen grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the meeting, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu commended the stakeholders for their dedication, foresight and commitment to the development of Igala land and the growth of the APC.
The Minister described their contributions as vital to advancing development in Kogi East and appreciated them for the support accorded him in the discharge of his responsibilities as a member of the Federal Executive Council.

The meeting reaffirmed the stakeholders’ commitment to greater collaboration, unity and collective action towards addressing challenges and leveraging opportunities for the development of Kogi East under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
