The Sunday Steve Karimi Progressive Movement has called on the Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to discipline one of its members, Alfred Bello, over what it described as repeated disparaging remarks against party leaders and the party’s structure in Kogi West.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Movement’s Coordinator, Hon. Abdulganiyu Abdullahi, popularly known as White Lion, urged the APC State Chairman, Engr. Aliyu Momoh Ezzu, to take immediate action, saying Bello’s comments were capable of causing division and weakening the party’s unity in the district.

Abdullahi alleged that Bello had been making inflammatory statements to gain political relevance, insisting that such conduct amounted to party disparagement and should not be tolerated. He also called on Bello to publicly apologize to Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, as well as to other party leaders and youths in Kogi West.

The coordinator further dismissed claims surrounding the outcome of the recent party primary, saying it was misleading to celebrate the victory of an aspirant who had withdrawn from the race before the election.

He reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to the unity, progress and stability of the APC in Kogi State, warning that it would continue to resist any attempt to undermine the party’s cohesion.
