Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has paid a reconciliation visit to the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, where he reportedly tendered an apology over past political disagreements, formally bringing an end to their rift.
The reconciliation meeting was facilitated by the Chairman of the APC Presidential Reconciliation Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, alongside the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari.
According to party sources, the engagement was part of ongoing efforts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership to resolve internal disputes and strengthen unity among key stakeholders in Kogi State.
During the meeting, Ajaka was said to have expressed regret over previous political misunderstandings and appealed for forgiveness, while Yahaya Bello reportedly welcomed the gesture in the spirit of reconciliation and party loyalty.
The discussions also focused on the need to maintain peace within the party structure, especially as preparations intensify for future political activities in the state and beyond.
Stakeholders present at the meeting described the atmosphere as calm and constructive, noting that both leaders demonstrated maturity and a shared commitment to the progress of the party.
Party officials further emphasized that the reconciliation is expected to reduce tensions among supporters and realign political interests toward collective development goals.
With the successful intervention, both sides agreed that there is now âno more rift,â signaling a renewed phase of cooperation within the APC family in Kogi State.
