JUST IN: Lokoja ADC Gets New Chairman, Others Through Consensus

The Lokoja LGA chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected its new executive members through a consensus arrangement.

The exercise, which took place on Thursday, was held at the residence of the state party leader, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, located in the Government Reserved Area (GRA), Lokoja.

Alhaji Hadi Lawali emerged as Chairman of the party in the local government, while Mohammad Patigi Yakubu was elected as Deputy Chairman.

Abdulrazak Mohammed emerged as Secretary, Mamud Ibrahim as Organising Secretary, Muhammed Sulaiman as Publicity Secretary, Saidu Adamu as Financial Secretary, Dansabe Ndanusa as Legal Adviser, Halimatu Hussaini as Woman Leader, and Muhammad Ibrahim as Youth Leader.

Hon. Abdulrahman Muhammed Balga, who presided over the process, called on the newly elected executive members to remain committed and dedicated to the growth and success of the party.

In his remarks, the Lokoja Local Government party leader, Hon. Yabagi Bologi, charged the executives to work diligently towards ensuring victory for the party in all forthcoming elections. He also assured them of the continued support of party leaders at all levels.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected executives, the Chairman expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in them, assuring members that they would work tirelessly to deliver the party across the local government area.

He further called for the cooperation of all party members and appealed to the electorate to vote for ADC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The consensus process, according to party stakeholders, reflects unity and a shared commitment among members to strengthen the party’s structure at the grassroots level.

They noted that the peaceful conduct of the exercise demonstrates growing internal cohesion within the party in Lokoja.

Some members present at the event expressed optimism that the newly constituted executive would reposition the party ahead of future political contests, urging them to remain transparent, inclusive, and focused on service delivery.

Observers also described the emergence of the executives as a significant step toward consolidating the party’s presence in the local government, stressing the importance of mobilizing support across wards and communities.

The event was attended by party faithful, stakeholders, and supporters who pledged their loyalty and readiness to work with the new leadership to achieve success in upcoming elections.
