Support for Hon. Adams Bakaso Danfulani, fondly called Quency, is growing as the Lokoja Youths Movement has openly endorsed him for the House of Representatives seat in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency.
Quency, who is not only a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) but also holds the traditional title of Hardo Brini of Lokoja, is widely celebrated as a philanthropist and grassroots mobilizer.
Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for empowering youths, supporting women, and contributing to community development across the constituency.
At a meeting in Lokoja on Sunday, the Lokoja Youths Movement, led by its president, Comrade Yabagi Umar, declared Quency as their preferred candidate.
The group, which boasts a wide membership across Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas, said their decision was based on his proven record of service.
“Quency is more than a politician; he is a servant of the people and a leader rooted in both tradition and modern values,” Umar stated.
“As the Hardo Brini of Lokoja, he has consistently used his influence and resources to uplift the less privileged, sponsor education, and create opportunities for the unemployed. We believe his election into the House of Representatives will open a new chapter of inclusive representation.”
The movement recalled some of Quency’s interventions, including scholarship awards to indigent students, business grants for widows and petty traders, as well as youth training in tailoring, ICT, and other vocational skills.
Many of these beneficiaries, the group noted, are today gainfully employed and contributing to society.
Community voices also echo the movement’s endorsement.
A youth leader in Angwan Kura, Musa Suleiman, described him as “a mentor who doesn’t wait for political office before serving the people.”
Similarly, a trader in Kpata market, Mrs. Amina Danlami, said Quency’s support for small-scale businesses has “helped women like me to feed our families with dignity.”
Political observers say Quency’s combination of grassroots philanthropy, cultural standing as Hardo Brini, and growing youth support could make him a formidable force in the coming elections.
His candidacy, they argue, represents a blend of tradition, service, and forward-looking leadership.
As the 2027 polls draw closer, the Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency is expected to witness a keenly contested race.
For now, Quency’s rising influence and the backing of influential groups such as the Lokoja Youths Movement suggest that the Hardo Brini of Lokoja may be on his way to transforming grassroots goodwill into legislative mandate.
