Tributes Galore At Maigari Of Lokoja Step Mother’s 8th-Day Fidau Prayer

Lokoja, the confluence city, practically, stood still on Sunday, as eminent Nigerians, foreign diplomats, politicians from various political parties, market women and men, well wishers, among others, thronged the Maigari’s Palace, venue of the 8th Day Fidau prayers for the repose of late Hajiya Safahu Kabir Maikarfi, step mother of Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi IV.

Late Hajiya Safahu, who was the wife of late Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Dr. Mohammodu Kabir Maikarfi died on Sunday, April 9, aged 59, after a brief illness in Abuja and was buried in Lokoja.

Various Muslim clerics who offered prayers and gave sermons at the well attended event, preached on the need for men and women to make humility their watch word even as they urged Nigerian leaders and all those in positions of authority as well as everyone still alive to emulate the life of service to humanity as exemplified by the late Safahu.

The eminent Nigerians, led by the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, include: the Rogan of Eggan, Alhaji Alhassan Muhammed Umoru, Chiefs and Obas, Lokoja Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, Member representing Lokoja 1 state constituency, Hon. Shehu Tijjani Ebaiya, top government officials, traditional title holders, Islamic Clerics, members of Danko Development Forum Lokoja and members of Lokoja Forum of Patriots, among numerous others.
