Talba Lokoja Marks Mother’s 15th Anniversary with Special Prayer, Names Newborn Maimunat

It was a moment of solemn reflection and joyful celebration on Sunday as Muhammad Adamu Tanko, fondly called Talba Lokoja, hosted a special prayer in memory of his late mother, Hajiya Maimunat Lare Muhammad, marking the 15th anniversary of her passing, alongside the naming ceremony of his newborn baby.

The event, held at his Sarkin-Noma residence in Lokoja, brought together family members, religious leaders, associates, community leaders, and well-wishers.

The prayer session was led by the Deputy Chief Imam of Sarkin-Noma Jummat Mosque, Sheikh Saidu Hassan, who offered heartfelt supplications for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Hajiya Lare Muhammad, praying to Almighty Allah to grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.

Delivering his sermon, Sheikh Hassan advised youths to uphold moral values, discipline, and dedication to the service of humanity.

He urged them to stay away from social vices and strive to build a meaningful future that brings honor to their families and communities.

He further admonished Talba Lokoja to continue his charitable efforts and commitment to preserving his family’s legacy, noting that such acts attract divine blessings.

Dignitaries present at the gathering included Hon. Shehu Tijjani Bin Ebaiya, Member representing Lokoja 1 State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly; Alhaji Maikudi Bature, Lokoja LGA APC Chairman; Hon. Ramatu Musa and Aishat Amale, councilors representing Ward B and E; and Muhammed Muhammed, Kogi APC Youth Leader.

They joined in prayers for the deceased and congratulated Talba on the safe arrival of his newborn child.

The baby was named Maimunat Muhammad, accompanied by prayers for long life, good health, and divine guidance.

Speaking at the event, Muhammad Adamu Tanko (Talba Lokoja) expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their presence, support, and prayers.

He described his late mother as a woman of great virtue whose teachings continue to shape his character and values.

He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining her legacy through acts of charity and assistance to the less privileged, adding that such deeds were central to her life.

In his remarks, Alhaji Muhammad Adamu, father of Talba Lokoja and APC leader in Ward B, thanked the clerics, dignitaries, neighbours, and friends who graced the occasion.

He prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon them and emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and love in the community.

Community leaders praised Talba Lokoja for upholding strong family traditions through events rooted in prayer, reflection, and appreciation, describing him as a young man devoted to service and community development.

The memorable event featured Qur’anic recitations, sermon sessions, and special prayers for the family, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large.

The ceremony concluded with refreshments and goodwill messages as attendees departed with prayers for continued peace, prosperity, and divine blessings for the family.
