Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Salisu Nayashi has concluded the 1447 Ramadan Tafsir held in Lokoja, sponsored by the Late Aisha Tanimu Nasidi Foundation (ATNAF).
The Tafsir, which commenced on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, attracted a large number of members of the Muslim Ummah who gathered daily to listen to teachings and interpretations of the Holy Qur’an.
Speaking at the closing session, the Chief Imam of Lokoja New Market Juma’a Mosque, Sheikh Imam Dahiru Hussain, commended the foundation for sponsoring the religious programme, describing it as a commendable effort aimed at promoting Islamic knowledge and unity among Muslims.
He called on other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the initiative by supporting programmes that strengthen faith and moral values in society.
Also speaking, the Hakimi of Ward D, Malam Isah Ahmed Nasidi, who represented the Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, appreciated the organisers for their commitment to the propagation of Islam and community development.
In his remarks, Sheikh Muhammad Salisu Nayashi, who conducted the Tafsir throughout the Ramadan period, urged Muslims to uphold the lessons of patience, charity, and righteousness learned during the holy month.
Special prayers were also offered for the repose of the souls of the late Aisha Tanimu Nasidi, Maiuguwa Musa Nasidi, their deceased children, as well as for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the Maigari of Lokoja and the entire Lokoja community.
