The Kogi State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, an umbrella body of Islamic organisations in Nigeria has called on all scholars delivering the Tafseer or lecture during the Islamic month of Ramadan to shun bad preaching and use courteous language and kind words during their Tafseer sessions.
The call was made by Alhaji Usman Bello, Chairman of the Kogi State JNI at a press conference held at its Secretariat in Lokoja on Monday.
He also reminded the scholars of the JNI’s Tafseer guidelines, while also urging them to “fear Allah”.
Bello called on all Muslims to “fervently pray for the peaceful co-existence of Nigeria and for the restoration of peace, security and stability in our dear country”.
The JNI also called on all Nigerian Muslims to appropriately utilize the spirit of Ramadan by being more God-conscious through more recitation of the Qur’an and being faithful in the observance of the five daily prayers and also Taraweeh, a special night prayer, in congregation.
“Indeed Ramadan is a month of restraint, patience, servitude and dedication to Allah, the Most High; hence we must collectively do so to earn Allah’s forgiveness and mercy in this blessed month,” the JNI said.
