In the spirit of Ramadan, the Abubakar Ola Foundation (AOF), has given cash palliative to Imams and other vulnerable Muslims in Lokoja local government area of Kogi State.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Alhaji Zakari Abubakar Ola, while doling out the cash assistance, said the gesture was to reduce the impact of the economic downturn on the vulnerable groups during the one month of compulsory fasting period.
Over a hundred of Imams and other vulnerable individuals received ₦30,000 each to aid them during the fasting period.
During the aid distribution, Zakari, who was represented by his younger brother, Hon. Ibukun Ola Abubakar Bukky encouraged the beneficiaries to pray for the nation’s welfare and economic development, emphasizing the significance of compassion in times of rising living costs.
He advocated for the collaboration between Non-Governmental Organizations and affluent individuals to complement government efforts in supporting the destitute and vulnerable segments of society.
He noted: “I understand the hardships of poverty first-hand. That’s why we are here today to lighten some of their burdens. As they receive this assistance, I urge them to pray for peace and guidance for our leaders.”
One of the beneficiaries, expressed profound gratitude, describing the assistance as a significant boost to their day.
He said: “I woke up with nothing to eat, but through divine intervention, this young man came to our aid. We pray that God rewards him abundantly.”
Also, the Foundation had earlier, extended financial aid to widows and underprivileged women in Lokoja.
