*** Clerics urge politicians to imbibe Allah-dey’s good deeds

Eminent Nigerians on Wednesday thronged Lokoja, Kogi State capital to pay their last respect to the departed Hon. Mustapher Abudulkarim Allah-Dey who died last Wednesday and buried same day.
At the Fidau prayer held at his residence on Wednesday, special prayers ware offered for the soul of the former lawmaker who represented Lokoja 1 State Constituency in Lokoja today.
Muslim clerics who delivered lecture at the Fidau prayer called on politicians to imbibe the good deeds of late Allah-dey.
Family members, political associates, members of Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LFP) and indigenes of Lokoja attended the Fidau prayer.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Shiekh Aminu Shaban admonished Nigerian politicians to fear God and toe the path of peace, honesty and love.
Shiekh Shaban urged the politicians to fulfill their campaign promises and other commitment to their fellow human beings, especially those who voted them into power.
The Chief Imam who described Allah-dey as a great political icon that has contributed immensely to the development of Lokoja community and supporting the less privilege, called on the political office holders to pond on the former lawmaker’s death and amend their ways and live up to the expectations of the masses.
According to Shaban, “If the fidau prayers was not held for the deceased, the wicked would not reflect on his or her past ways”, saying there is need for everyone to reflect on their past ways and turn a new leave as death is inevitable .
“Every politician must imbibe the good gesture and character of late Hon. Mustapher Abudulkarim Allah-Dey, he said.
Earlier, the chairman of Lokoja Forum of Patriots, Alhaji Idris Baba’Ango, prayed for the soul of the late Allah-dey and ask Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest.
Baba’Ango called on everyone present to remember that death is inevitable, and it is a pointer to the fact that everybody will account for his deeds on the Day of Judgment.
Speaking on behalf of the state government, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf who appreciated the dignitaries at the event, described the late Allah-dey as an icon in the state and would forever be remembered for his landmarks.
Yusuf said the painful exit of the late former lawmaker was a rude shock to the State as well as the entire country.
In their thank you message, wife of late Allah-dey, Hajiya Fatima Allah-dey and his first son Mustepher Allah-dey, thanked all the Nigerians for their condolences and visits during the mourning period stressing that, “We sincerely appreciate the honour done to me and prayers offered for my late sister.”
They thanked all traditional rulers, top government functionaries, associations, grassroot movements and clerics among others for their supports and fervent prayers.
They however urged indigenes to always love one another in order to sustain the exciting peaceful and harmonious atmosphere enjoyed in the State.
Present at the Fidau include; the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Commissioner for Water Resources Engr Faruq Danladi, the Chairman Lokoja LGA Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, representatives of YSFON, members of Lokoja Forum of Patriots, representative of Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulkareem Gwadabe, top government officials, Hakimis, traditional title holders, top politicians Islamic clerics, among others.
Until his death, Allah-dey was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Chairman, Lokoja Boat Regatta organizing committee, Vice President, North Central,Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, One time Chairman Kogi State Referee Council, and former Chairman Kogi State Football Technical Committee.
