NEMA Hands Over Food Items To Aguye For Distribution To Vulnerable Persons

National Emergency Management Agency NEMA has formally handed over assorted commodities to member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, from the National Strategic Reserve for distribution to Vulnerable Persons in the Constituency State.

While Presenting the food items to the lawmaker on Saturday, at Karara Primary School, Lokoja, Mr. Justin Nwazuronye, head of the NEMA Abuja operations office, noted that the delivered items included 200 bags of rice, 150 bags gari, 120 cartons of oil and 50 cartons maggi.

He said presentation of the grains was in fulfilment of President Bola Tinubu pledged to reduce the impact of the current economic hardship being experienced in the country inline with his Renew hope Agenda.

“Today we are here to hand over the food items to your representative at the National Assembly for distribution to identified deserving beneficiaries in the communities through the constituted committees in each ward”.

“I want you all to commend Hon. Aguye who had made the donation of these food items possible. Aguye, noticing the suffering of the vulnerable in his Constituency wrote to NEMA requesting for assistance for vulnerable persons in his constituency. He kept pursuing the request until it was granted”, Nwazuronye stressed.

while recieving the food items, Aguye, expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government for the support.

He confirmed the receipt of the items from NEMA and committed to ensuring that the prescribed guidelines for their distribution are followed.

The lawmaker warned that, nobody will be spared if report of any untoward incident comes to his attention in the process of distribution.

The event was attended by Head of NEMA Disaster Response unit, representative of Kogi State SEMA, community leaders, traditional leaders, APC leaders, and civil society organisations.
