Lokoja LG Chair Mourns Death of Agankyu of Kakanda

The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has expressed deep shock over the passing of the Agankyu of Kakanda Kingdom, HRH Alhaji Muhammed Sani Alhassan.

In a condolence message signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, Comrade Adamu extended his heartfelt sympathies to the Royal Family, the Kakanda Traditional Council, and the entire Kakanda Kingdom, describing the monarch’s demise as a painful and irreplaceable loss.

He noted that the late Agankyu was “a symbol of peace and unity whose wisdom, fatherly guidance, and commitment to community development touched countless lives.”

According to him, the revered monarch consistently demonstrated a passion for sustainable development, peaceful coexistence, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Comrade Adamu explained that the late royal father played a crucial role in strengthening the relationship between traditional institutions and the local government, often lending his voice to matters of security, communal welfare, and youth empowerment.

He added that the Agankyu’s interventions helped to foster stability and mutual understanding within the region.

The Chairman further stated that the passing of HRH Alhaji Muhammed Sani Alhassan should serve as a reminder of the need for unity and collective responsibility among the people, noting that the late monarch’s leadership style was rooted in consultation, fairness, and empathy.

He also called on community leaders and youth across the local government area to sustain the legacies of peace and progress championed by the late Agankyu, emphasizing that honouring his memory requires continued commitment to harmony and development.

Comrade Abdullahi Adamu prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed royal father and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

He also prayed for divine strength for the Kakanda Kingdom to bear the grievous loss.
