The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, will on Thursday celebrate his one year in office with a grand anniversary ceremony at Reveton Hotel, Lokoja, starting at 10 a.m.
The colourful event, which will be chaired by Alhaji Sulaiman Baba-Ali, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency and the Gabi Sayadi of Lokoja, is expected to attract top government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, and stakeholders from across Kogi State.
As part of the celebration, 12 distinguished personalities and institutions will be honoured with meritorious awards for their notable contributions to governance, community development, and public service.
The list of awardees includes:
1. His Excellency, Alhaji Suleiman Baba-Ali – Leader, APC Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency
2. Hon. Alhaji Surajudeen Yusuf Abdullah – Former Executive Chairman, Lokoja LGA
3. Hon. Mohammed Mabo Kasim – Former Executive Chairman, Lokoja LGA
4. Hon. Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi – Former Executive Chairman, Lokoja LGA
5. Hon. Chief Gabriel Agoyi – Former Executive Chairman, Lokoja LGA
6. Hon. Yabagi Bologi Danlami – Former Executive Chairman, Lokoja LGA
7. Brigadier General K.U. Sidi – Commander, 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army
8. Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa – Director General, HYPADDEC
9. Hon. Mohammed Danasabe Mohammed (Posthumous) – Former Chairman, Lokoja LGA
10. Hon. Aliyu B. Usman (Posthumous) – Former Chairman, Lokoja LGA
11. Shifaa Hospital, Lokoja – For outstanding community health service
12. Mr. Yunusa Isah – Manager, Mobil Filling Station, Lokoja
In his remarks, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu said the awards were conceived to appreciate individuals and institutions that have contributed meaningfully to the peace, growth, and progress of Lokoja Local Government.
“This anniversary is not just a personal milestone; it is a celebration of service and partnership. The awardees represent pillars of progress who, in various capacities, have shaped the development of our dear local government,” he said.
He further assured that his administration would remain focused on projects that promote unity, strengthen local economy, and uplift the standard of living for the people of Lokoja.
