The Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LFP) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Kakanda people following the painful death of the Agankyu of Kakanda Kingdom, HRH Alhaji Muhammad Sani Gimba, whose passing has thrown the entire community into deep mourning.
In a condolence message signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Idris BabaâAngo, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, LFP described the late traditional ruler as âa symbol of unity, a custodian of culture, and a father whose wisdom and leadership positively shaped the Kakanda nation.â
The Forum noted that his death is not only a loss to the Kakanda Kingdom but to Kogi State as a whole.
LFP recalled how the late Agankyu consistently supported the Forum during its annual boat regatta festivals, offering moral guidance, cultural insights, and logistical assistance that contributed immensely to the success of the events.
The group noted that his encouragement and presence helped promote unity and strengthened cultural ties among riverine communities in Lokoja and beyond.
The Forum commended the royal family, the traditional council, and Kakanda sons and daughters for their composure during this moment of grief, urging them to uphold the legacy of peace, humility, and community development championed by the late monarch.
Alhaji BabaâAngo emphasized that the Agankyuâs lifelong commitment to harmony, cultural preservation, and grassroots development has left an indelible mark on the people and will continue to be remembered.
The Lokoja Forum of Patriots prayed for God to grant the Kakanda Kingdom the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and also prayed for the peaceful repose of the revered royal father.
