Lokoja Butchers Hold Annual Maulud Nabiyi Prayer Session

The Butchers Development Association (BDA), Lokoja, Kogi State, on Sunday held its annual Maulud Nabiyi (S.A.W) prayer session at the Felele Abattoir, Lokoja.

The religious programme, which commenced at about 10:30 a.m., attracted members of the association, Islamic scholars, community leaders and members of the public, who gathered to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

The Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, led the prayer session. He offered special prayers for peace, unity and progress in Lokoja, Kogi State and Nigeria.

He also prayed for late butchers and departed members of the association, asking Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Aljannatul Firdaus.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam spoke on the significance of Maulud Nabiyi, urging Muslims to emulate the Prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W) virtues of honesty, patience, humility and compassion in their daily lives and business dealings.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the association and Sarkin Pawa of Lokoja, Alhaji Idi Ibrahim, thanked Almighty Allah for the successful hosting of the programme.

He appreciated members for their unity and support, noting that the annual Maulud Nabiyi celebration promotes brotherhood, moral discipline and peaceful coexistence among butchers in Lokoja.

Also speaking, the Acting Chairman of Lokoja International Market, Alhaji Hassan Inuwa Manager, commended the Butchers Development Association for sustaining the annual Maulud Nabiyi prayer session.

He called on other market associations to emulate the butchers by organizing similar religious programmes that encourage unity and moral values.

Alhaji Hassan Inuwa Manager further prayed for the continued progress of the association and asked Allah to grant peace, good health and prosperity to all market leaders and traders.

Special prayers were offered for Lokoja metropolis, Kogi State and Nigeria, particularly for economic stability and improved security.

The Maulud Nabiyi prayer session featured Islamic chants, supplications and goodwill messages, and ended peacefully.
