Abubakar Muhammed, Councilorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Lokoja Ward ‘D’ Councilorship position has said that he will make youth and women empowerment a priority if elected in the October 19 local government election.
Muhammed, a philanthropist disclosed this in Lokoja on Friday in a remark during the inauguration of his campaign office.
He stated that his campaign would be issue-based and would focus on the developmental needs of the Ward, assuring that he would put the people’s interest above his own personal interest.
“Today, I officially inaugurate my campaign office, the office will be open on daily basis for the day-to-day running of my campaign activities.
”I also inaugurate my campaign team. I can assure you that the good people of Ward ‘D’ will never regret if am elected as accountability, transparency and effective representation will be my watchword.
“I will give priority to youth and women empowerment as well as issues on education, health and agricultural,” he said.
Speaking further, he said he would never make any promise that he had no capacity to fulfil, hence my campaign will be issued based and anchored on honesty and transparency.
Muhammed, who is fondly called Nda Abu said that he had severally intervened in the health, education and other needs of the people in his private capacity in the Ward.
“If I am elected, it will give me more opportunity to do more for the people of the Ward,” he said.
The Councilorship hopeful appeal to youths in the area to shun violence during and after the election.
