…Urges Members To Put State’s Interest First

Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed Alhaji Muhammed Mabo Kasim as Executive Secretary of the Board of Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC).
Also screened and confirmed were;
Engr. Abdulsalam Yusuf, Commissioner Market Competition and Rates, Prof. Abdulkareem Ibrahim,
Commissioner Legal and Meliga Enema Michael, Commissioner Engineering Performance and Monitoring, who will serve as Commissioners.
The four nominees had appeared for screening before the lawmakers shortly after the reading of the letter sent by the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, requesting the House to determine their suitability for appointment as board members of the Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, read the letter by the Governor during plenary at the Hallowed Chamber on Monday.
While deliberating on the list, the lawmakers described the nominees as “people of unquestionable character”.
They urged the nominees to uphold the confidence reposed on them by placing the interest of the state above every consideration.
In his remarks, the Speaker, advised the nominees to always know that they will hold their trust and loyalty to the State Government, should they scale through and be confirmed.
The nominees, during the screening, promised to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties.
Mabo Kasim, the nominated Executive Secretary, had earlier told the lawmakers that the nominees were drawn from various sectors and would pull together their wealth of knowledge for the good of the commission and the state.
He, on behalf of the nominees, promised to discharge the assignment diligently.
Shortly after the nominees were led out of the floor of the Assembly by the Sergeant-at-Arms, Dirisu Omeiza, the lawmakers, by voice vote, confirmed the nominees one after the other, as fitting for the appointment.
With the confirmation, the Speaker, Rt.
Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, directed the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Ahmed Chogudo, to convey the resolution of the House to the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for possible swearing-in as members of the Board of Kogi State Electricity Commission.
The House, thereafter, adjourned the sitting to next year.
