Residents of Lokoja went wild with jubilation on Wednesday as the Miagari, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Muhammadu Maikarfi IV, rode on a horse from Eid praying ground back To his palace.
The Maigari was also joined by some of his traditional title holders.
Some of the women and youth who spoke to the National Watch Tv described the royal father’s mounting of a horse “as a pleasant surprise to his people”
They lauded the royal father’s sense of “innovation”, saying that he had been adding “colour” to the throne since he became the Maigari of Lokoja.
One of the women interviewed, Amina Usman, said the new Maigari had been creative in the administration of the palace.
She added that since his installation, a lot of changes had occurred, ranging from people’s welfare, to the display of the palace cultures.
Lawan Abdullahi, a resident of the palace, said that history revealed that the Maigari’s grandfather once rode on horse from the Eid praying ground to his palace.
Mr. Abdullahi commended the royal father for adding value to the culture of the people, through sheer act of innovation.
A university student, Musa Ahmad, said he was full of excitement to have witnessed the ceremony.
“I have never seen live, a monarch riding on a horse, so to me it is a whole new experience, ” he said.
