No one can short-change the Irenokwozose Royal Family of the Odaki Clan, a prominent community elder, Ayizi Abubakar, has declared, affirming that the family continues to hold its rightful status as a ruling house in Koton-Karfe Kingdom.
Speaking during a recent interview with newsmen in Lokoja, Abubakar emphasized that despite disputes surrounding chieftaincy succession, members of the Odaki Clan have historically maintained their recognized position within the kingdom’s traditional hierarchy.
He recalled that in 2012, Halidu Ibrahim Danjuma, a member of the royal family of Irenokwozose Royal Family of Odaki Clan, was among the three major contenders for the Ohimegye stool, highlighting the family’s longstanding involvement in Koton-Karfe Kingdom’s leadership affairs.
Abubakar further noted that members of the Irenokwozose Royal Family have consistently contributed to the socio-cultural development of Koton-Karfe Kingdom, from supporting traditional festivals to sponsoring community development projects.
“The family has never shied away from its responsibilities towards the welfare of the people and the preservation of our customs,” he said.
The recognition of the Irenokwozose in Odaki Clan, according to Abubakar, is not only a matter of history but also a reflection of members’ ongoing relevance in the political and cultural life of Koton-Karfe Kingdom.
“Our role in governance and cultural affairs continues to be significant, and we remain committed to ensuring that traditions are respected,” he added.
Members of the Irenokwozose Royal Family have reiterated their call for all stakeholders to observe peace, follow due process in leadership matters, and prioritize the interests of the community above individual ambitions.
With its deep-rooted history and continued active participation in the kingdom’s affairs, members of the Irenokwozose Royal Family of the Odaki Clan remain a symbol of stability and tradition in Koton-Karfe Kingdom.
