A Philanthropist and the Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to Kogi State Governor, on Grassroots Mobilization, Hon. Abdurahman Hussaini a.k.a Gentle, has empowered over 1,500 residents in Lokoja local government area of Kogi State to become entrepreneurs and run successful businesses, as part of efforts to trim unemployment rate in the country.
This is just as the SSA took his time to visit some Orphanage homes and also gave them food items and cash.
The 1,500 beneficiaries who were selected from the 10 political wards in Lokoja local government area received cash gifts, wrappers and other empowerment items.
Speaking during the event held at Kabawa open space, on Saturday, Hon. Gentle explained that the gesture was necessitated by his resolve to give back to society as a leader, adding that the empowerment items would help in no small measures to the advancement of the area.
He noted that during the APC campaign in 2023, the party promised to improve the standard of living of the people.
In his remarks, leader of the party in the area and Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Engr. Abubakar Bashir-Gegu, commended the SSA for his untiring efforts to the people in the last three years.
He noted that politicians elected under the platform of the party had continued to perform well across the state and the country at large, calling on the people to support the party and Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo towards achieving victory in the 2027 governorship election.
Appreciating Hon. Abdurahman Hussaini Gentle for his kindness, one of the beneficiaries simply known as Mrs Bosede Adebayo thanked him for his constant empowerment of indigent women and Youths in the area and prayed to God to give him a higher office so that he can touch more lives in the area.
Leaders present at the event include, the Commissioner for Water Resources Engr Danladi Faruq, the Lokoja local government Chairman, Comrade Abdullah Adamu, the member representing Lokoja 1 state Constituency, Shehu Tijjani Ebaiya, the Lokoja local government APC Chairman, Alhaji Maikudi Bature, all the Ward Chairmen among others.
Recall that yesterday Hon. Gentle visited the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, where he settled the hospital bills of some indigent patients.
