HIGHLIGHT OF DISTINGUISHED HON. SUNDAY STEVE KARIMI’S SCORECARD WITHIN TWO YEARS IN OFFICE

The Distinguished Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Hon. Sunday Steve Karimi, has continued to demonstrate remarkable leadership, people-oriented representation, and infrastructural drive within just two years in office at the National Assembly.

Since assuming office, Senator Karimi has rolled out multiple projects and empowerment programs that have touched every local government across Kogi West, reflecting his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

Among his numerous achievements are:

1. Establishment of a Military Forward Base in Yagba, valued at over ₦1 billion, aimed at enhancing security and protecting lives and property in the area.

2. Construction of classroom blocks, an ICT centre, and a science laboratory at Local Government Secondary School, Koton-Karfe, worth ₦1.2 billion, to boost educational development.

3. Empowerment of over 1,600 women across Kogi West with ₦100,000 each, providing them with financial stability and business support.

4. Disbursement of students’ bursaries to over 1,000 tertiary institution students, and another 3,000 beneficiaries in the second edition, totaling ₦400 million, to support education across the senatorial district.

5. Construction and rehabilitation of 145 motorized boreholes, improving access to clean water in rural communities.

6. Installation of over 2,000 solar-powered streetlights across Kogi West, ensuring safer communities and improved night visibility.

7. Facilitation of over 50 federal jobs and appointments for youths within his senatorial district.

8. Building of new classroom blocks at Kakanda, enhancing access to secondary education.

9. Donation of ₦10 million to the Kupa community following a tragic boat accident to support victims and their families.

10. Regular financial assistance to individuals and families in times of need, reflecting his compassionate leadership.

11. Rehabilitation of Lokoja Old Fish Market, originally constructed by late Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril, at a cost of ₦11 million, giving the market a new look.

12. Donation of ₦5 million to support the ongoing central mosque project at Kupa South, fostering religious development.

13. Execution of ₦150 million infrastructural projects in Edo community, Kakanda Ward, Lokoja LGA, improving social amenities.

14. Donation of over ₦100 million to various communities during festive occasions, strengthening unity and cultural heritage.

15. Distribution of 26 electricity transformers across the senatorial district to boost power supply.

These achievements, among several others, underscore Senator Karimi’s commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, promoting development, and improving the standard of living of the people of Kogi West.

Stakeholders and residents across the senatorial district have continued to commend his proactive representation, describing him as a true servant-leader whose impact is visible across all sectors — education, infrastructure, security, and empowerment.
