The entire members of the “Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group” Kogi State chapter, has hail Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja for granting the bail application brought before it on Friday 13/12/2024 saying that God has answered their prayers.
The leader of the group, Chief Richard Asaje stressed that the bail application granted to the ex-governor Yahaya Bello was justified and an evidence that God still answer prayers.
Recall that members of the group organized and conducted special prayers for FGYB on the 11/12/2024 at ACT GUEST INN, sanlu,Yagba East LGA during the routine meeting of the group held in Yagba Federal Constituency.
Chief Asaje commended the judgement of the court in restoring the liberty of his political son, noting that the judiciary has exhibited maturity in granting the immediate past governor of the state bail.
Leaders of the group pointed out that the offences listed out by the EFCC were just mere allegations which are yet to be proved, therefore the bail application granted to the ex-governor was justified.. An accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty, they added.
FGYB who is facing 19 counts of criminal breach of trust and money laundering amounting to #80.2bn pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Justice Emeka Nwite emphasized his impartiality in the ruling, attributing his decision to the assurances provided by the defence counsel.. Lawyer Dauda (SAN) assured the court of Bello’s commitment to attend all trial dates.. FGYB posed no flight risk ,he would attend all trial dates..
Chief Asaje also hail the EFCC counsel ,Pioheiro to withdraw previous application for an abridgement of the arrangement date ,who stated that the application had been overtaken by events.. This is fair enough and the agency has proved that
EFCC are prosecutors, not persecutors, indeed the EFCC is a prosecutorial commission..
FGYB trial is to continue on February 24, February 28, March 6, and March 7,2025..
We therefore urge kogite to refrain from making any hateful comments , rejecting hate is the responsibility of every individual..On our side, we know that FGYB will be the next Olushola Saraki of kogi politics..We insisted that the charges against him had been trumped up in retaliation for giving kogite the best governor we ever had.. Governor Ododo leadership style and direction are exactly what kogite needs and we shall continue to say thank you to FGYB..He is a worthy son .
Going forward, the EFCC should be more patient and meticulous in their approach to fighting anti-corruption cause..
While FGYB legal team are working on meeting the bail conditions,we say this is a moment of triumphant joy and also thanksgiving.
We shall continue to pray for FGYB and support him despite the repression and culture of impunity.. Blackmail can’t rubbish FGYB legacies..FGYB bail grant is a good news ,his freedom/victory at last is sure, Chief Asaje exclaimed.
